There are dozens of reasons to transfer FTM from Binance to Metamask such as increasing your security by moving your FTM to a non-custodial wallet or perhaps you want to interact with the Fantom ecosystem through Metamask. The process to transfer FTM from Biannce to Metamask is super quick and easy just follow this simple guide.
Transfer FTM From Binance to Metamask
Step 1: The first thing you must do to be able to send and receive FTM in Metamask is add the Fantom network to Metamask, this is done by adding Fantom as a custom RPC in Metamask.
Open your Metamask wallet and navigate to the network at the top and open the drop down, from there scroll to the bottom and click “Add Network”
This will open a new window where you can choose to add a network manually.
Use the following information to add the Fantom Opera network to your Metamask, this will enable you to use the Metamask wallet on the Fantom network allowing you to participate in the Fantom ecosystem.
Network Name: Fantom Opera
RPC Url: https://rpc.ankr.com/fantom/
ChainID: 250
Symbol: FTM
Block Explorer URL: https://ftmscan.com/
Step 2: Now that you have the Fantom network added to your Metamask we can go ahead and open Binance to begin the transfer of FTM from Binance to Metamask.
From your Fiat and Spot wallet in Binance navigate to your FTM holdings and click the “Withdraw” link to the right.
Once you paste in your Fantom address you can now select which network to send your assets over, in this case we will be using the Fantom network.
Enter the amount in which you would like to send and click the “Withdraw” button. You can see the progress of the withdrawal and any recent withdrawals in the “Recent Withdrawals” box below the withdrawal form you have just used.
When transferring any assets on any network or protocol it can often be a good idea to send only a small amount to start with to test that you have entered the correct information and are using the correct network.
How do I move FTM to Metamask?
Moving or Transferring FTM to Metamask is done by using the Fantom address from your Metamask that you get once Fantom is added as a network to Metamask. The process we used above is very similar for most exchanges and protocols.
Can I transfer from Binance to Metamask?
Yes, as long as the assets you are transferring and the blockchain you are using are EVM compatible they can be transferred to Metamask.
Can I send FTM on BEP20?
Yes. FTM is currently on both the Ethereum chain as an ERC20 token and the Binance smart chain as a BEP20 token. When sending as a BEP20 token make sure the receiving address is on the Binance Smart Chain.
What network does Metamask use for FTM?
As the Fantom mainnet (Fantom Opera) is an EVM compatible blockchain it is compatible with Metamask. The layer 2 chains built on top of Fantom are also EVM compatible making them available on Metamask.
