Key Takeaways

  • Use SpookySwap for bridge AVAX to FTM
  • Bridging tokens can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours
  • SpookySwaps bridge allows a whole range of tokens to bridge
  • AVAX and FTM are both layer 1 networks

What is bridging?

As the crypto space grows and more and more chains pop up it is becoming more crucial for us to be able to move tokens across chains easily, this is called cross-chain interoperability.

In a future that is most likely going to be cross chain it is essential that you know how to participate in these ecosystems and most importantly how to bridge your tokens between them. Bridging tokens between chains may seem a bit scary at first however it can be very simple when using the right platforms.

In this article we will cover the easiest and safest bridge you can use to bridge your AVAX (Avalanche) tokens over to FTM (Fantom).

Best bridge to more AVAX to FTM?

As we are bridging to the FTM network we will be using a FTM based bridge that is also one of FTMs largest DEX’s, SpookySwap.

SpookySwap will allow you to not only swap tokens on their DEX but also bridge tokens over from AVAX and other ecosystems into FTM.

With a clean and simple UI SpookySwap is great for everyone from beginners right up to advanced traders.

How to use SpookySwap Bridge to bridge AVAX to FTM

Step 1: Right off the bat you want to navigate to the official SpookySwap website and head over to the “Bridge” option at the top of the page.

Step 2: From here you are going to see two main options, a “From Chain” this is the chain that you want to bring tokens over from so in this case it will be “Avalanche”.

And a “To Chain” this is the chain we want our bridged token to appear on so in this case it will be “Fantom”.

Once you select your two chains you will be prompted to log into your Metamask or other browser based wallet. You may be prompted to switch your Metamask to the network you are bridging from.

As you can see SpookySwap offers bridging from a wide range of chains such as Ethereum, BSC, Polygon and more so keep this bridge in mind in the future.

Step 3: Once you have AVAX and FTM selected go ahead and choose which token to bridge, in this case it is “AVAX”.

Step 4: And just like that it is time to click the “Bridge Token” button. There is a couple of bits of important information you should keep in mind when bridging so we will outline that below.

Important Information to keep in mind

Bridging tokens can take anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours so don’t stress out if your tokens do not show up straight away.

Bridging does include a fee, the fee for bridging to Fantom is around $1. This is dependent on the chain you are bridging to.

What is AVAX?

Avalanche is a layer 1 network known for its transaction speeds and reliability. Boasting transaction speeds of 4,500 transactions per second and fees as low as just 0.001 AVAX a lot of people called AVAX the Ethereum killer.

What is FTM?

Fantom is also a layer 1 network that rose to fame for its extensive DeFi ecosystem. Boasting fast transaction speeds, low transaction costs and clean UIs, Fantom quickly became a popular chain.

Fantom is a decentralized network that uses nodes to power the network and process transactions.
